Read articleOn Debian Linux we ran Noise Reduction from the Effect menu (Get Noise Profile, then 12 dB / Sensitivity 6.00 / Frequency smoothing 6 bands) on a synthetic file: pink noise plus 220/330 Hz tones. The noise-only section dropped from −43.69 to −55.69 dB RMS on the WAV export; the tone section dropped from −23.93 to −29.09 dB RMS. WAV and MP3 export worked. A scripted NoiseReduction call returned OK but did not capture a profile until we used the dialog.
We did not test Audacity 4.x or .aup4 projects. Official materials describe .aup4 projects and compatibility limits for older projects, commands and plugins—verify those on the official site before a deadline migrate. There is no mobile app.
