What to check before choosing it
Our available test used ImageMagick 6.9.12-98 with convert on Linux. Current version 7 documentation uses magick. Match instructions to your installation. Format support and behavior require checking in your own build; a JPG cannot retain a transparent PNG’s alpha channel. We did not evaluate a GUI editor, large-file performance or color-managed production exports.
